Wine Appreciation Groups 1 and 2 meet once a month in members’ homes (two meetings per month), to discuss and enjoy wine together. Better than drinking alone! We sample five bottles of wine per session, with a guide price of £10. You don't need any prior expertise in wine tasting but it is expected that you will do some prep for each session to support group discussion on the chosen wine topic.  Group 1 (WA1) - the group chooses a theme and five members bring along a relevant bottle. Group 2 (WA2) - the Coordinator chooses and provides the wine, with a contribution of £12 per attendee to cover the cost of wine and snacks. Please see dates of the upcoming sessions and further details below. See also our Wine Appreciation Group 3 - an 'open' Group with no limit on numbers which meets in local pubs and wine bars.

WA1 - Tuesday 12th May, 6:30pm (sign-up open): the theme for the next session will again be grape varities: 'Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc'. Last month we tasted Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay - 1st & 5th most popular varieties (highest in acreage). This month we will look at the 2nd and 8th most popular varieties. Chardonnay is the 1st white and Sauvignon Blanc is 2nd most popular white.
If you are not successful in signing up for a WA1 session and you go on that session's waiting list, you will be given priority for the next month's session.

WA2 - Friday 22nd May, 6:30pm (sign-up open): Coordinator will pick the theme and the wines.

WA3 - Tasting Visits: due to the current level of demand on WA1 and WA2 a third Wine Appreciation Group has been set up. More details here.
