Interest Groups
are our
heart and soul
We’ve made browsing Islington u3a’s eighty-plus Interest Groups as much of a breeze as humanly possible. You can flip through alphabetically, by category, or by days of the week you’re free.
How to join our Groups?
Decide whether you want to search our eighty-plus Groups Alphabetically, by Category or by Meeting Day. Click the link, choose the Group you’re interested in - and you’ll find more details, including a link to contact the Group Coordinator.
What are our Groups Like?
Open, friendly, stimulating, confidence-building. We’re all volunteers so we all pitch in. If we have a goal, it’s to make the most of everything living in London has to offer.
Who leads our Groups?
One or two coordinators. These are members who have an interest in a subject or activity and have generously volunteered to run a Group.
Where do Groups meet up?
Depending on size and needs, members meet in members’ homes, the town hall, a pub, a café or the park. Or in a theatre, cinema, opera house, or art gallery. Or, on a longer walk, members venture miles outside Islington.
Fancy leading a Group yourself?
If you're interested in coordinating a Group, our Groups Support Lead would love to give you an idea of exactly what that involves. She’s a mine of information on venues, duration, frequency and admin. Something current Coordinators say is that, in return for giving their time and expertise to run a Group, what they get in return is the huge satisfaction of sharing a lifetime’s experience with other members.
