Tensions in Political Thought explores enduring and emerging questions about how we live together and govern ourselves. Through a series of friendly, structured discussions, the group considers ideas from a range of political thinkers, past and present, whose perspectives often challenge one another — and us. Topics may touch on power, freedom, justice, identity, or the limits of democracy, drawing on diverse traditions and viewpoints. No specialist knowledge is required, just curiosity and a willingness to reflect and debate.  Meetings are held fortnightly, usually on Zoom plus an in-person meeting at a venue in Islington three times a year.
