| When: | Monthly on Friday afternoons 2:30pm-4:00pm |
| Venue: | Via Zoom |
The Future of the UK Constitution Group started in 2023. The UK Constitution is unusual. An increasing number of people believe it holds the UK back and needs reform. Drawing on materials from videos to books, we have looked at such issues as how the UK constitution works and the merits of a written constitution. Specific subjects have included the House of Lords, secondary legislation, Citizens Assemblies, the civil service and other countries’ constitutions. During 2026-7, we plan to examine proportional representation and devolution to English cities and regions. We usually meet on the fourth Friday of each month from 2.30pm to 4pm, except for August and December, mainly via Zoom but sometimes in person. Our next season starts on 11 September.
