We read mainly, but not exclusively, modern German literature with some autobiographical and historical books, then meet to discuss them. Members can speak in English or German, choosing the language with which they are most comfortable or pushing themselves a bit. Our first choice of book was Die Verlorene Ehre der Katharine Blum by Heinrich Böll. More recently we have read Atemschaukel by Herta Müller, Marzahn Mon Amour by Katja Oskamp, Schachnovelle by Stefan Zweig, Die Familie by Andreas Maier and Zur See by Dörte Hansen.
