By delving billions of years into our planet’s past, Professor Dartnell tells us the ultimate origin story, of where history becomes science.
We’ll learn how geological forces drove our evolution in East Africa. How mountainous terrain led to the development of democracy in Greece. How today’s voting behaviour in the United States follows the bed of an ancient sea.
Professor Dartnell is an astrobiology researcher based at the University of Westminster. He’s appeared on BBC Horizon, Wonders of the Universe, and in documentaries on the National Geographic, Discovery and History channels.
His book Origins: How the Earth Shaped Human History is not only a Sunday Times bestseller. It was also Waterstones' Best of 2019, one of iNews’ 11 most popular science books 2019, and a Mail on Sunday recommended science and nature book.
