This online group will be led by Dr Salvatore Parisi from his home in Palermo, Italy. Initially a six month course of monthly sessions will be held starting in late September. Salvatore was formerly an Islington resident and still maintains close connections. Salvatore thinks the best way to help people improve their language skills is to get them talking, debating - even arguing - with each other. In Italian - as in real life.
So, he provides articles by email on Italian culture, current affairs and other subjects of interest, asking everyone to read and then discuss via Zoom.
If required, he gently helps them find the most modern, educated Italian words to express what they want to convey.
The standard (basic/intermediate conversation*) will depend on who signs up for the course, so do join up and help develop this language strand.
*This is not for complete beginners in Italian, but for those who want to build confidence in speaking.
