Our Philosophy Group is made up of interested amateurs who enjoy exploring life’s big questions in an open and accessible way. None of us are professional philosophers, but we share a curiosity about ideas and the thinkers who have shaped them, past and present. Each month we agree on a topic, and one member researches it in more depth to give a short presentation before an informal group discussion. We also keep an eye on relevant free public lectures at the Institute of Philosophy and elsewhere. Previous topics have included ethics, empiricism, aesthetics, time, and political philosophy.
