Group email: International Affairs 2 group
When: Monthly 2:30pm-4:30pm
on 3rd Wednesday
Venue: A meeting room in central Islington

Following the popularity of our existing International Affairs group, and with a growing waiting list, we have launched a second group to give more members the opportunity to take part.
The London School of Economics (LSE) runs public lectures given by eminent world experts on topical subjects. You can either attend in person or live online, or you can watch them on their YouTube channel after the event. This is such a fantastic facility that it seems a shame not to use it. Members will watch (or attend) nominated lectures in their own time, then meet to discuss them in person as a group. Discussion will not be limited to the topics of the lectures – they will serve as a stimulus.

Wednesday 21st October at 2:30pm.
Venue will be circulated to members.
Discussion led and chaired by Joy Bailey, will be based on two LSE Live talks.

1. America as a revisionist power (and what it means to the rest of the world).
2. Weaponising dependency - the new world order.

Details of the talks and how to access them will be circulated to group members.

Wednesday 18th November 2026, 2:30pm.

Wednesday 16th December 2026, 2:30pm.

Wednesday 20th January 2027, 2:30pm.

Wednesday 17th February 2027, 2:30pm.

Wednesday 17th March 2027, 2:30pm.

Inaugural meeting was held on Tuesday 21st July 2026 at the Walter Sickert Centre, to agree the scope and format of the group.
