Our lively group explores classic and contemporary science fiction, from the imaginative worlds of Jules Verne and H.G. Wells to modern visions like The Power and The Martian. Members enjoy discussing how science, society, and imagination intertwine — whether through dystopian futures, alternative histories, or distant worlds. Debates are friendly but thought-provoking, touching on technology, ethics, gender, and humanity’s place in the universe. The science fiction novels, novellas and short stories we discuss are all chosen by members. Books read include Fahrenheit 451, The Handmaid’s Tale, The Mote in God’s Eye, and Neuromancer.
